(Re)Imagine City/ (Re)Imagine Home Second Edition: Togetherness

A city is more than a lifeless existence. Its essence is in togetherness.

Exploring Togetherness through Urban Spaces

A city is more than a lifeless existence. Its essence is in togetherness. French philosopher Henri Lefebvre describes cities as “the perpetual oeuvre of its inhabitants, themselves mobile and mobilized for, and by this oeuvre […where] time-spaces become works of art.” What are the relations and dynamics between cities and its inhabitants? How would you define togetherness in urban spaces? How are togetherness, collaboration and collective work shaped in public space? Where can they be seen?

Togetherness is an official pavilion of The Wrong Biennale 2023/24, thewrong.org/Togetherness.

Bubbles possess a delicate, translucent quality. When light passes through them, it refracts and interferes, resulting in a mesmerizing display of radiant colors on their surfaces. Similarly, a city, with its vibrant tapestry, is a living embodiment of diversity. Each corner tells a story, colored by the myriad cultures of its inhabitants. Drawing a parallel between these two, the animated video depicted a city pulsating with joy and energy. Here, people are shaping the very essence of their urban landscape through shared experiences and collective creativity.

About (Re)Imagine City/ (Re)Imagine Home

(Re)Imagine City/(Re)Imagine Home is an annually run XR Creative Project of Urban Art, lead entirely by Burmese creative technologists. It finds alternative ways for the artists & creatives to express themselves while getting involved in the process of adding socio-cultural values to cities.

The core idea of this project is to create an opportunity for artists to imagine how they can reshape their cities' environments, to imagine putting their works in spaces they couldn’t invade with physical materials and help them create their unrealized projects virtually.
